All embryos were collected from superovulated females. The superovulation procedure was performed as described in Nagy et al., 2003 (Manipulating the Mouse Embryo) The collection of blastocysts was performed as described by Nagy et al. (2003). Only expanded blastocysts (see organogenic image)were included in this sample. Embryos were then transferred to Trizol. Multiple litters were needed to collect enough RNA for SAGE library construction.
